This paper was done with my colleague Jon Heynen for our Information Design Class. Our focus for this project was to examine Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI). These are more commonly known as concussions. Working through Data.gov, we were able to find data from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to show the rates of TBI injuries reported by age group in the United States over the time period from 2001-2010. What my partner and I were able to do is to dive into the data and establish correlations between TBI and age groups that weren’t immediately apparent. This paper is a great example of LO3, LO5, and LO6 in that we were able to exercise collaborative leadership in working with each other, critically analyze message that were revealed to us during the course of our analysis and communicate our results in an elegant fashion.
