Summary
This article demonstrates how a survey can be used to get valuable information on a broad range of assessments. A well-designed survey like the one presented can be useful to design future studies, adjust curriculum, and or help make strategic direction decisions. The framework presented in the article will help a researcher design a research plan, identify relevant issues and use appropriate analytical techniques.
Experience
This article goes into more depth for how to design a survey together useful, relevant information from a population. It is a particularly useful reference for me when thinking about how I want to engage a population and what type of information I want to gather from them. I was able to use the framework laid out in this article to design a questionnaire that enabled me to get information I had never had about a project I am working on right now. This enabled me to create a product using more user insights than I had ever had in the past.
